Project Description

Somalia has experience many disasters including drought in 2017 and 2018.

Somali migrants have also moved from their homes to urban areas and other countries because of the degradation of environmental conditions, which posed a threat to their livelihoods and even their survival. For example the pastoralists’ communities who are constantly in search of pastures for their livestock.

Between 2016 and 2017, Candle Of Hope Foundation managed to reach 14,580 Households with relief food distributions in Northern Kenya (Garissa, Mandera and Nairobi), Somaliland (Togdeer region; Burco and Sheikh) and Galgaduud region in Somalia through partnership with other cooperating partners i.e. Relief Development Committee (RDC), Ocean Somali Community UK, and support from the Diaspora communities
