Project Description

School feeding programs contribute to decreased hunger, which helps children concentrate on their studies. Such programs motivate parents to enroll their children in schools and alleviate short-term hunger in malnourished or otherwise well-nourished school children. This helps to increase the attention and concentration of learners, thereby producing gains in cognitive function and learning.

Through our initiatives and contacts with various schools in Nairobi in Jan 2017 (Kibera and Dagoreti), We assessed the quality of food and nutrition for the children in the above schools and shared our findings with the MOH schools and Nutrition department. This department confirmed that both MOH/MOE is currently reviewing the current school health policy.
