Candle of Hope Foundation (COHF) is an organization registered in Kenya and Somaliland which is determined to promote empowerment, sustainability and resilience by addressing the most pertinent issues affecting the vulnerable members of the communities.
Nairobi (Kenya), and Hargeisa (Somaliland) promotes initiatives in various sectors including Anti-human trafficking and smuggling of migrants(SOM) initiatives, Health and Nutrition, Education, Livelihoods, Governance (Peace Building, women and Youth Empowerment) and Inclusive Initiatives targeting people with disabilities and HIV/AIDS.
COHF takes a participatory approach to project implementation. We work with communities to identify core needs and seek ways and means of solving the issues identified through citizenry public participation model. We are committed to meeting international standards of quality and accountability in all our activities. All programs are geared towards benefiting the target community in the long run by abiding with the principle of Do no Harm without hampering progress none the less.
COHF’s scope of work has been incessantly fully fledged since its establishment. Currently, the organization’s interventions focus on mainly the following areas:
- Awareness Campaigns
- WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene)
- Women empowerment, protection and governance
- Nutrition and Food Security
- Peace building activities.
- Anti -human trafficking
Candle of Hope Foundation together with Ocean Somali Community Association of East London have a vast experience in development and implementation of projects in Education, Health, job trainings, protection, Gender, Women empowerment, Governance and peace activities.
